ProSmelt Ltd. Cat Litter

Attapulgite is a clay mineral that contains three dimensional chain structures, which give it unique colloidal and absorbent properties. The kiln-dried and mechanically-sized Attapulgite clay offered by ProSmelt Ltd is primarily used to manufacture cat litter. The unique structure of 100% Attapulgite cat litter offers long life, no dust or paw tracks and prompt absorption of liquid and unpleasant odors.  And, it is totally natural so cats love it.  A notable and growing preference for organic and natural cat litter absorbents by cat owners is expected to substantially increase demand for Attapulgite.

 

Calmet 150 Tundish Casting Powder - PDS

GENERAL/APPLICATION

Calmet 150 Tundish is a general purpose casting powder and insulating cover with a low loss on ignition and has a CA-SI ratio of 1.  This makes it ideal for steel and welding applications. Calmet 150 readily absorbs AL2O3 which is detrimental to finished steels. Further Calmet 150 provides fusibility, good insulation and excellent fluxing properties.   It has the capacity to absorb harmful inclusions, maintain surface defects, prevent oxidation and lubricate the mold wall.

 

Calmet 1200 Covering Fibre - PDS

Calmet 1200 readily absorbs harmful inclusions and has a CA-SI ratio of 1, making it ideal for steel and welding applications.  Further it has a low thermal conductivity and excellent heat resistance.
Calmet 1200 Covering Fibre is lightweight combined with good mechanical properties. It is maintenance-free and clean to handle.  It is cost-effective and easy to install.
In addition it has low thermal shrinkage, is gas resistant - CO1, NH3, H2, N2 and CH4 - and is Sulphur-free with low iron.   Calmet 1200 Covering Fibre is Asbestos-free and has a low heat storage.

Provides a non-sintering barrier between the molten metal and the slide gate, which flows freely as the slide gate is opened.

A premium grade-chrome sand based preparation to help prevent ladle gate leakage and aid the free opening of hot metal casting ladles in metallurgical plants.

APPLICATION

For use in covering hot metal ladle nozzle slide gates prior to filling the ladle with molten metal in casting plants such as Ferro alloy and Steel plants.

FUNCTION

Provides a non-sintering barrier between the molten metal and the slide gate, which flows freely as the slide gate is opened.

Perlite Filter Aid

Perlite is a naturally occurring volcanic glass. Rapidly heating Perlite Ore softens the volcanic glass causing entrapped water molecules in the rock to turn to steam and expand the particles similar to popcorn forming small clusters of glass-like insulating spheres.

When these spheres are crushed and milled to specific criteria, they form a light weight, jagged porous structure that facilitates solid liquid separation in a number of applications.


The Attapulgite structure lies somewhere between a laminated structure and a chain structure. It looks similar to soil, but has a compacted block formation which are found in sedimentary rocks and the weathering crust of the earth.

Attapulgite can be white to grayish-white, bluish to grayish-green or willow-green in color.


Various grades utilize jagged interlocking structures of Attapulgite to create multiple microscopic channels between the filter aid particles to produce optimum flow rates and clarification abilities.

The Benefits of Perlite as a Filter Aid

Perlite Filter Aids are lightweight, inert, impart no taste or odor to liquids being filtered, and are virtually insoluble in mineral and organic acids at all temperatures.
Solubility in strong alkaline solutions varies depending on temperature and contact time.

In the absence of filter aids, solid particles in liquid solutions inevitably accumulate on the filtering surfaces and create bottlenecks and obstacles to the filtering process.

Perlite Filter Aids create a filtering layer (cake) that transfers the filtering from the septum to the whole mass of filter aid.
Filtration occurs in the tiny pores formed by the fine particles of filter aid.
